A late-night freeway incident has left a motorcyclist in critical condition after a multi-vehicle collision and a subsequent hit-and-run on the H-1 East freeway, near Aiea. The Honolulu Police Department reports that the initial crash occurred shortly after midnight when a 19-year-old motorcyclist rear-ended another motorcycle ridden by a 23-year-old male.
Following the crash, both motorcyclists were thrown from their bikes onto the road. A 20-year-old driver, who had stopped to render assistance, witnessed a distressing turn of events when an unknown motorist struck the 19-year-old and his motorcycle.
