The Culver City Police Department is actively investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred near an ATM on the 5800 block of Green Valley Circle this past weekend, authorities said. According to a press release, officers responded to the report of the crime on Saturday, August 31, after the incident took place at around 11:18 am.
The preliminary investigation by the police revealed a situation wherein a female suspect allegedly approached the victim and threatened her with a firearm. The victim, who was conducting a transaction at the ATM, was ordered by the suspect to "Put all the money inside the bag or I’ll shoot," as recounted by the official press release. Fear-struck, the victim escaped to the safety of a nearby bank, followed shortly by the suspect, who later fled the scene.
The suspect has been described as a Black female adult, approximately sixty years old with a medium build and reddish-orange curly hair. She was last seen wearing a light blue tank top, shorts, and sunglasses, and was carrying a purse or bag, possibly containing the black firearm used in the confrontation.
