A Delaware man is facing multiple felony charges after police found drugs and guns at his residence in Harrington. The Delaware State Police arrested 33-year-old John Cox for gun and drug offenses subsequent to executing a search warrant on Wednesday at a house on the 400 block of Jackson Ditch Road, as reported by the Delaware State Police.
The search warrant was part of an investigation into the alleged distribution of illegal narcotics from the property. Cox, the identified resident, was taken into custody without incident. Delaware State Police’s Special Operations Response Team and members from a Kent County Governor’s Task Force conducted the search, which yielded approximately 13.58 grams of methamphetamines, Naloxone strips, a 12-gauge shotgun, ammunition, a digital scale, and drug paraphernalia.
Following the search, Cox was charged with several offenses, including felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited who also possesses a controlled substance. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2. Details from the Delaware State Police indicate that Cox has been committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $14,000 secured bond. Cox remained at the Sussex Correctional Institution, awaiting further legal proceedings.
