Embracing the spirit of the season, the City of Denton has launched "31 Days of Denton Halloween," a month-long celebration filled with daily activities and festive decorations, modeled after the successful initiative from Conway, South Carolina, famously known as the "City of Halloween." Denton's Parks and Recreation staff initiated plans after seeing how Conway boosted its community involvement and hospitality tax through similar programming. The activities are designed not only to entertain but also to support local businesses by drawing in crowds from all over.

Denton is determined to tailor the Halloween experience with over 100 activities already outlined, ranging from major events like the Arts & Jazz Fest to smaller library craft sessions for children. According to the City of Denton, the city intends to continuously expand this list providing a diverse array of options for both residents and visitors to choose from. The effort is grounded in what city staff call the "Three P’s" — Programming, Placemaking, and Promotions, aiming to make the celebration a hallmark of the fall season in Denton.

The Placemaking aspect focuses on creating selfie stations and displays that invite interaction and exploration as people roam the downtown area, combining leisure with the enjoyment of local cuisine and music. The intent is to transform Denton into a Halloween destination, similarly elevating the city's profile as Conway did, leveraging festive charm to bolster economic activity.

Promotional efforts are also in full swing, with the city's Marketing and Communications team actively rolling out the "Denton Halloween" brand. Merchandise such as t-shirts and stickers are part of the campaign to help successfully draw attention to all participating events and businesses throughout October.
