Denver's craft beer scene is about to plant roots in Phoenix with the upcoming launch of Formation Brewing. The brainchild of Denver Beer Co., which has grown from its flagship location to encompass multiple outposts throughout Denver, Formation Brewing marks the company's foray into Arizona. Slated to open its doors before the winter's end, the brewery will make its home in the Roosevelt Row arts district, a developing hotbed for creative and cultural enterprises.

Adding to the variety of local watering holes on Roosevelt Row, Formation Brewing aims to seamlessly blend into the lively community, mirroring the vibrancy found in Denver. According to a statement obtained by The Denver Post, CEO Robert MacEachern looks to leverage similarities between Phoenix and Denver, including thriving arts and outdoor scenes, to really drive our brand in the city. Moreover, the strategy includes creating a brand with distinctively "Phoenix flair."

The 10,000 square-foot facility will not just serve as another beer producer; it's set to become a community hub on Fifth Street, just south of Roosevelt Street. Complete with a dining room offering views of a state-of-the-art 19-tank brewing system, Formation Brewing is poised to become a favorite local haunt. The kitchen will feature Arizona ingredients sourced from local purveyors in its fare, as reported by Phoenix New Times.

Beer aficionados can look forward to a selection of 24 taps, including four signature offerings that evoke the essence of the desert landscape. "Cloud Drifter Hazy IPA, Desert Racer Pilsner, Sun Crest Tart Peach Ale, and Western Winds West Coast IPA," are some of the innovative flavors being teased, as mentioned by Phoenix New Times. Formation will also cater to the grab-and-go crowd with canned beers for those looking to enjoy their brews off-premises.

It's clear that the Denver Beer Co. team is leveraging their 13 years of beer crafting experience in this new venture. "When it comes down to it, we want to be known as a go-to place that serves great beer, great food and where people are happy to be, where people feel that strong sense of community and inclusivity," MacEachern told Phoenix New Times. With a 1,185-square-foot patio featuring fire pits and misters, along with a second-floor mezzanine bar, the brewery is designed to foster that very environment.
