The ongoing investigation into the death of a Dodge County woman, Crystal Rasch, has resulted in her husband, 43-year-old Zachariah Rasch, being charged with first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse. As reported by FOX6 News, the case initially surfaced as a missing person inquiry before escalating to a death investigation.
Crystal was not reported missing until June 23, despite last being heard from on June 11 via a text message to her stepmother. The stepmother's concern prompted her to visit Crystal's residence, only to find Crystal's vehicle in the garage and no sign of Crystal herself. This revelation led to the discovery that Zachariah Rasch had been using his wife's financial accounts without authorization, as described in a criminal complaint. According to the CBS 58 report, he was previously charged with Identity Theft- Financial Gain.
The transactions in question, totaling over $6,500, included purchases of carpet cleaner, chemical-resistant gloves, stain remover, and drain cleaner, items that raised suspicions about their intended use. TMJ4 noted that surveillance video tied Zachariah to these purchases. The criminal activity is believed to be linked to the period following Crystal's disappearance. The Dodge County Sheriff's Office has not released any further details about the circumstances surrounding Crystal's death.
