San Antonio's roadways have been marked by tragedy as two separate hit-and-run accidents occurred within hours of each other, leaving one man dead and a woman seriously injured. Earlier today, a couple on the Northwest Side found themselves in the peril of a highway emergency on I-10 near Scenic Loop Road. As reported by KSAT, the man, in his 50s, and the woman were pushing their disabled vehicle off the road when a gray pickup truck collided with their car and fled the scene around 1:45 a.m. The man succumbed to his injuries at the site of the crash while the woman received transport to the hospital with expectations for her recovery.
Meanwhile, a strikingly similar misfortune unfolded on the Northeast Side, where another hit-and-run incident claimed a life. Moments after 9 p.m. yesterday, on the Interstate 35 access road near the Walzem Road exit, a man was hit and fatally injured. As per information shared by News 4 San Antonio, the woman accompanying him was left with serious injuries. Authorities have yet to release a vehicle description or suspect details for the perpetrator responsible for this accident.
San Antonio police are actively seeking the drivers involved in both hit-and-run incidents. The identities of the victims have not been released, as authorities are awaiting notification of their next of kin. Anyone with information about either case is urged to contact the authorities.
