A severe collision occurred Friday night when a light rail train struck a vehicle north of the Woodberry light rail station, leaving the vehicle's driver in critical condition. The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) reported that the incident happened around 10:52 p.m., with MTA officers responding. According to a report by the Baltimore Sun, a northbound train collided with a vehicle that had entered the track area.
Following the crash, emergency services were dispatched to assist passengers and secure the area. An MTA spokesperson said that the truck driver was critically injured and taken to Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment. Despite the severity of the crash, a bus bridge was quickly established to ferry light rail passengers between Camden Yards and the Falls Road light rail station.
