After a tragic hit-and-run incident in North Las Vegas left one woman dead, the driver has surrendered to authorities. In a turn of events late Tuesday afternoon, Justin Marr, a 27-year-old local, presented himself to the North Las Vegas Police Department as the man behind the wheel of the Chevrolet work truck involved in the fatal accidents. According to FOX5 Vegas, Marr arrived at the North Las Vegas Police Department Records Bureau office at approximately 4:20 p.m.

Earlier investigations led police to a business in the 100 block of Gibson Road, where they found the said vehicle and impounded it around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Known to already have a DUI warrant, Marr was then booked into the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center. He is now facing charges that include failing to stop at the scene of an accident involving death or personal injury and reckless driving that resulted in death or bodily harm, as stated in a statement obtained by News 3 Las Vegas.

The initial crash occurred around 9:13 p.m. on Monday, at the crossroads of Civic Center Drive and Webb Avenue. The North Las Vegas Police Department found a severely injured woman at the scene, who was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The white Chevrolet work truck failed to remain at the scene and was later involved in another collision minutes later, although no injuries were reported from the second incident, as reported by News 3 Las Vegas.

North Las Vegas Police Department had released an image of the vehicle to the public prior to Marr turning himself in, describing it as a white single-cab Chevrolet utility vehicle with writing on the passenger side door and a ladder overhead. Witnesses described the driver as a Hispanic adult male and police believed that impairment could have played a role in the fatal accident. As of now, Marr is awaiting the legal repercussions of his actions and the North Las Vegas Police Departmen is urging anyone with additional information to come forward by contacting them at (702) 633-9111.
