
Yesterday, a road rage incident on Florida's Turnpike escalated into gunfire, resulting in a driver being shot in the leg. According to ClickOrlando, the confrontation occurred near State Road 417 and Hunter’s Creek exits in Orange County. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that shots were fired from a gray or silver Volkswagen hatchback at a Tesla.
The 33-year-old man driving the Tesla later realized to have been shot in the leg when his vehicle was hit. The victim, whose identity hasn't been released, was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. "Two bullet holes were discovered on the driver-side door of the victim’s vehicle," as reported by WFTV.
In the aftermath of the incident, FHP initiated an investigation that led to the arrest of 35-year-old Jorge Luis De Jesus Carrasquillo of St. Cloud. He is now facing charges including attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and the direct discharge of a firearm from a vehicle. De Jesus Carrasquillo was booked into the Orange County Jail following the confrontation.
