
The Duncanville Police Department has officially announced the promotion of veteran officer Adrian Tijerina to the role of Assistant Chief of Police. Tijerina, a seasoned member of the force with a 17-year tenure, has covered a broad spectrum of roles including Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, SWAT Operator, and Instructor of Use of Force and Firearms. Prominent among his previous responsibilities are supervisory positions across Patrol, Internal Affairs, Training/Personnel, and SWAT.
According to the City of Duncanville, Chief of Police Matthew Stogner expressed his confidence in Tijerina's capabilities to greatly contribute to the department. "Assistant Chief Tijerina brings a wealth of experience and dedication to this role, and I have no doubt that his leadership will continue to strengthen our department and enhance the safety and well-being of our community," said Stogner.
Tijerina's new responsibilities will involve commanding the Operations function of the Police Department. This will place him in charge of overseeing the Patrol, Special Operations, and Traffic Divisions, which are pivotal in maintaining order and safety within the community.
