
Tragedy struck early Monday morning in east Charlotte, where a fatal two-vehicle collision claimed a life and disrupted the daily commute. According to WBTV, the crash occurred just before 5 a.m. at the junction of Hood Road and Plaza Road Extension, prompting the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to close the intersection. Following the incident, officials have urged the public to avoid the area and find alternative routes; the duration of the closure remains unknown at this point.
The collision resulted in one fatality, and a second person received on-site treatment from MEDIC, according to QC News. The identity of the deceased has not been made public.
