An early morning incident in Spanaway has left a 19-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries and a community on edge. According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department blog, deputies received a 911 call at 2:17 a.m. Tuesday about a drive-by shooting near the intersection of 78th Ave E and 192nd St E. The victims were able to pull over and call for help on Canyon Rd E.

Upon their arrival, the deputies found that the driver had been shot in the arm and the front passenger sustained a graze wound. There was also two more adults and two young children, a 2-year-old and a 9-month-old, in the back seats. None of the children were harmed during the incident. First responders provided immediate medical assistance, with deputies applying a tourniquet to the man's arm before firefighters took over the scene.

The injured man was swiftly transported to the hospital. As of now, the authorities have not taken any suspects into custody, and the investigation into the drive-by shooting is ongoing. The Pierce County Sheriff's Department is asking anyone with information to come forward and contribute to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
