Residents of East Harris County were alerted to gunfire yesterday afternoon when a male suspect reportedly shot at homes in the Highlands and Crosby area. Responding to these urgent calls, deputies from the Harris County Sheriff's Office Patrol units sprang into action. It wasn't long before the suspect was located, detained, and disarmed by the authorities.
According to ABC13, the District Attorney's Office has since levied charges against the man. Fortunately, there was no immediate word on any injuries arising from the incident, a detail eagerly sought after by residents whose sense of security had been shaken.
The HCSO's communication channels reflected the quick resolution to a dangerous situation. A post from the Harris County Sheriff's Office District 3 Patrol states, "Day shift units had a report of a male shooting at residences in the Highlands/Crosby area. They were able to locate a male, detain him, and take guns off the streets. The male has been charged by the DA’s Office."
