In a turn of events that marks the end of an era for a local gastronomic landmark, Eastside Pizza House has announced that it will cease operations by the close of the month. The northeast Oklahoma City establishment, which opened its doors with much fanfare in February 2022, is shutting down due to what has been described as a persistent decline in patronage over the past two years, as reported by KFOR.
The owner of Eastside Pizza House, Jabee Williams, detailed a journey of serving roughly 60,000 pizzas, welcoming more than 150,000 guests, and catering numerous events since its inception, the business has struggled to maintain financial viability in recent times in a statement obtained by KOCO. This decline has contributed to the difficult decision to close the establishment on September 30, despite the significant inroads the restaurant made in the local food scene, including a feature on News 4’s Great State.
The sentiment expressed by the Eastside Pizza House on their Facebook page was heartfelt as they shared their appreciation for the community’s support. They encouraged patrons to visit one last time before their final day of operation. In light of this announcement, Eastside Pizza House extended their gratitude to customers who chose their establishment over traditional downtown and midtown locales, stating in their farewell message, "We want to thank our loyal customers who broke away from the usual downtown/midtown spots – we are so grateful," as reported by KOCO.
