Tragedy struck the westbound lane of Interstate 40 in El Reno, Oklahoma, last Wednesday when a collision claimed the life of a motorcyclist. According to OKC FOX, the crash involved three vehicles, one of which was unoccupied. The incident, still under investigation, resulted in 51-year-old Patrick Cronk being transported to OU Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased on Sunday, September 22.

Driving his 2005 Yamaha motorcycle, Cronk was involved in a collision with two semi-trucks, one of which was parked and unoccupied at the time of the crash. According to a crash report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, given to KOCO, the driver of the other semi-truck did not sustain injuries in the accident. The accident occurred near mile marker 122 at around 5:25 p.m.

Cronk was not wearing a helmet during the time of the crash which may have contributed to the severity of his injuries. After the impact, he was immediately transported by Air Evac to the hospital indicating the urgent necessity of medical attention, as reported by KOCO.

"OHP has not released the cause of the collision," states News On 6. The inquiry into this fatal incident will continue as investigators piece together the events that led to this tragic outcome.
