On October 5, the UNIDOS Program will be hosting a significant community-focused event. The initiative, designed to connect and empower those in need of legal guidance, is offering advice in both English and Spanish. According to the Irving Police Department's Facebook page, the department stressed its commitment to "bridging the gap between law enforcement and our community."
With an understanding of the link between knowledge and empowerment, the Irving Police Department extends an invitation to the public to attend their workshops. Having recognized that certain barriers stand tall, casting long shadows over the fair understanding of the law, this event aims to shine a light on those shadows for those needing better resources. "We understand that knowledge is power, so we offer workshops like this to answer questions," the Irving Police Department said on Facebook.
The event will be held at Templo Cristiano Iglesia De Dios, embracing the community in its quest for legal clarity. This initiative is a reflection of the department's ongoing efforts to enhance the relationship between law enforcement and the people they serve, ensuring access to necessary information is a right not obstructed by language barriers or lack of resources.
