An attempted beer theft in Fairfield took a sharp turn when an employee was threatened with a knife last Monday, leading to the arrest of the assailant, a 25-year-old man identified as Brandon Brekke. According to the Fairfield Police Department, the incident occurred around 11:19 am in the 1900 block of W. Texas Street, following an assault report from a local business.
Responding officers arrived on the scene minutes after the call and, with the help of video footage, quickly recognized the suspect. Meanwhile, Officer A. Diaz was in the area en route to training and noticed Brekke walking westbound on West Texas Street at Beck Avenue. Diaz promptly communicated this information to his colleagues, and Brekke was subsequently apprehended before his alcohol-fueled intentions could materialize.
Without incident, Brandon Brekke was transported to the County Jail, where he remains in custody.
