A routine traffic stop in Fairfield yesterday morning led to the arrest of a local man after a loaded firearm was found in his possession. The Fairfield Police Department reported that Officer Tuss initiated the stop at approximately 10:57 a.m. due to illegal window tinting on the vehicle in question.
The situation escalated when Officer Tuss, during the stop, discovered that both occupants of the vehicle were on searchable probation. It was while removing the passenger from the car that the officer sighted a firearm near the man’s left hip, according to the Fairfield Police Department. The gun had a magazine carrying 11 rounds and a chambered round.
Davion Donegan, a resident of Fairfield, was consequently identified as the driver and confessed to owning the firearm. The Fairfield Police Department has confirmed that Donegan was taken into custody without incident and was booked into Solano County Jail under various weapon charges. His apprehension also warranted a charge for violating his probation, which pertained to a prior illegal gun possession.
