Eight people, including three children, were evacuated from a house fire in Pine Hills early Monday. As reported by ClickOrlando, the incident occurred at a residence on Fernhill Drive, where Orange County Fire Rescue faced "heavy fire" as they arrived to assist the individuals inside.
When the fire started, the occupants, comprised of five adults and three children, were asleep, as WESH reports. Despite the conditions, no injuries were reported during the house evacuation. A state fire marshal has taken the lead in investigating the cause of the fire, while the displaced family is being assisted by the Red Cross in the wake of the tragedy.
Current details suggest the fire caused considerable damage, rendering the house uninhabitable and suffering from extensive smoke damage. In what can only be described as a stroke of fortune amidst misfortune, "Nobody got hurt, which is a good thing. The building, the belongings can be replaced but as long as nobody was hurt, we're good," said Battalion Chief Christopher Henesy, per WESH.
