An investigation is underway by the Ohio State Highway Patrol into a fatal accident that occurred over the weekend in Stark County, resulting in one death and leaving another individual seriously injured. Cleveland19 reports that the crash happened at approximately 6:30 P.M. last Saturday at US Route 30 and Broadway Avenue NE in Osnaburg Township, involving a collision between a pick-up truck and a Jeep.
Both vehicles went off the road into a nearby field after the pick-up truck, driven by Jacqlyne Lindberg, a 34-year-old Canton resident, veered left of center while attempting a right turn which led to the collision with a Jeep driven by a 66-year-old man from North Canton, as FOX8 details. The incident led to Lindberg being transported to Mercy Hospital with life-threatening injuries, and she was pronounced deceased later that evening. In contrast, the driver of the Jeep sustained severe but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Aultman Hospital.
Further complicating this tragic incident, WKYC adds the element of impairment to the narrative, citing the Ohio State Highway Patrol in stating "alcohol and or drug are factors" in the crash, additionally noting that Lindberg was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, the profound consequences of one decision upon the road can ripple outwards like the cruel and unyielding waves of a storm-beaten sea, the lives of individuals and families irrevocably altered in mere moments.
