Early reports emerging from Cypress describe a grim scene following a lethal vehicle accident last night. Harris County deputies are investigating an incident on the Grand Parkway Toll Rd which claimed the life of an adult male driver. According to FOX 26 Houston, the crash transpired around 10:30 p.m. near Meuschke Road and Cumberland Ridge, involving a pickup truck that veered into the median and rolled over.
The identity of the man has not been disclosed as of yet, officials still working to notify the next of kin. It is believed that the vehicle, traveling inbound, lost control resulted in the driver being ejected from the truck. "He was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead," FOX 26 Houston reported. Circumstances suggesting that alcohol might have been a contributory factor have led to further inquiries by the authorities.
Adding to this account, Click2Houston noted that no other vehicles were implicated in the tragic event. The incident resulted in only one vehicle and its driver being involved. Upon their arrival, emergency responders airlifted the fatal victim to the hospital, where he could not be saved.
The officer's preliminary evaluation led them to believe the crash was alcohol-related. Yet, the official cause remains under examination. More will be known once the investigation by the Harris County deputies concludes.
