A tragic event took place yesterday near downtown San Antonio when a wrong-way driver collided head-on with another vehicle, resulting in one fatality and serious injuries. According to the KSAT report, the San Antonio Police Department responded to a call just before 2:30 a.m. on Interstate 37 southbound. They found that a Chevrolet Malibu had been traveling north in the southbound lanes and had struck a Dodge Ram near the Houston Street exit.
The driver of the Chevrolet, who has yet to be identified, was declared deceased at the scene. The Dodge driver was transported to the local hospital with injuries reported as serious, the authorities stated to media outlets. Investigation into what prompted a driver to take their fatal voyage against the ordained flows of traffic is ongoing.
Adding details on the involved vehicles, a FOX San Antonio article specified that the wrong-way driver was in a 2023 Chevy Malibu and was identified as a male in his early 20s. The incident occurred around 2:20 a.m., slightly earlier than previously reported. The aftermath of the crash led to an immediate response by medical personnel who pronounced the wrong-way driver dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Dodge Ram truck was admitted to the hospital with serious but stable condition.
