Four individuals are in custody following a pursuit in the Cheviot Hills area that ended with a crashed Escalade and a canine-led arrest, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The event unfurled on September 4th, when a homeowner startled by a commotion discovered suspects outside his window before they fled.
Witness contributions played a crucial part in tracking down the suspects. A photo of their vehicle helped officers spot and pursue the black Cadillac Escalade on the same day. The chase culminated in the suspects' vehicle colliding with a parked truck, after which the ordeal spilled into the streets with the driver arrested, and the remaining suspects attempting to escape on foot. The LAPD quickly secured the area, and with the help of their canines, they apprehended all parties involved.
The suspects, identified as Jonathan Lopez, Keilan Edison, Kai Campbell, and Auston Grimes, now face charges related to the attempted burglary. Lopez, pinned with felony evading, is being held without bail, while the other three, charged with attempted residential burglary with a person present, have bail set at various amounts.
