Gage Garrison, a 19-year-old tied to a string of teen violence incidents in Gilbert, was sentenced to 60 days in jail for aggravated assault. The conviction stems from a December 2022 incident captured on cell phone video. Gilbert police arrested Garrison in January, who has since been connected to the so-called "Gilbert Goons," a group implicated in numerous teen violence cases, as reported by ABC15.
Garrison was also sentenced to a three-year probation on Thursday after pleading guilty to two separate aggravated assault cases. 12News reports that one of these assaults took place in a parking garage near Vaughn Avenue, and the other at a teen's birthday party where Garrison, alongside Cody Kostoryz, 18, were said to be part of a group that ambushed another juvenile.
While Garrison was named in a case "related" to the death of 16-year-old Preston Lord, he was not indicted in the murder case. The broader investigation has seen new court documents connecting seven other cases to the Lord homicide, signaling a web of violence that has ensnared multiple youths in the community.
The state's Silent Witness program remains operational for those looking to provide anonymous tips about crimes. Information can be submitted via a dedicated phone number, website, or through the program's app. Tips leading to an arrest or indictment may yield a reward of up to $1,000, as a move to encourage community participation in the apprehension of suspects involved in criminal activities, according to an announcement by Silent Witness.
