An Air Force veteran's life was abruptly ended in a tragic motorcycle crash in Glendale, as remembered by his bereaved family. Michael Pabst was fatally injured when his attempt to dodge a potential collision resulted in him crashing into a school bus on Litchfield Road. Glendale police confirmed that Pabst succumbed to the injuries from the incident, leaving behind his role as the steadfast center of his family.
Pabst was not only known for his service in the military but for the robust love he had for his family and the Green Bay Packers. Concern arose on the evening of Sept. 6 when Pabst failed to inform his spouse of his usual return home from work, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix. His daughter Courtney French followed a perilous intuition which led her to discover the dire news via social media and at the crash site.
In recent days, the Pabst family, who had relocated to the Valley from the East Coast a few years prior, has felt the embrace of an unforeseen network of support. Despite being relatively new to the area and not knowing many people, the community's responsiveness in this time of grief has manifested through kind gestures such as a meal train and monetary donations, including the setting up of a GoFundMe page which has drawn swift and substantial aid. "The amount of support we've gotten … so fast," French expressed with gratitude in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix.
Mourning his loss, the Pabst family shared their reflections and pleas with the wider community. Lani Pabst reflected on the importance of expressing love openly, noting, "Make sure you hug your loved ones every time you leave, because you don't know if you're going to make it home," as told in an interview with FOX 10 Phoenix. The Pabst's son, Mickey, added a reminder to motorists, urging them to watch out for riders and "be courteous," as noted by 12news. Those who wish to support the Pabst family can contribute through the GoFundMe link provided.
