The Department of Community Affairs Commissioner, Christopher Nunn, reinforced the importance of supporting local efforts, highlighting the progressive nature of these collaborations in expanding housing options for Georgian workers.
Each recipient of the initiative's grants not only complied with the OneGeorgia Authority's requirements but also matched those grants with local capital. The City of Brunswick is set to utilize a $2.5 million grant for pivotal infrastructure developments enabling the rise of Reynolds Street Cottages. This project, steered by WH Gross Developers, promises 46 new homes as it takes shape with both city and local enterprise contributions. Farther down the coast, Chatham County earmarks its $2.3 million-plus grant for infrastructure on an 18-acre expanse destined to house 83 units, constructed in partnership with Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity and buttressed by city and county funding.
