On Tuesday morning, the Haltom City Police Department was called to the scene of an automotive theft at a local business on Airport Freeway, where a Chevrolet Avalanche had been reported stolen. The theft transpired when an unidentified man arrived on the scene, exited a separate vehicle, and proceeded to illegally enter and attempt to drive away with the victim's truck. The suspect's efforts were interrupted when the owner confronted him, prompting the thief to flee the area.
Following the report, police officers located the stolen vehicle and engaged in pursuit after the suspect refused to stop. In what unfolded as a high-speed chase, the suspect collided with another vehicle near 3100 Yucca Ave, then continued to flee until striking a parked car on the 2800 block of Yucca Avenue in Fort Worth, as per the Haltom City Police Department. The suspect then abandoned the vehicle, opting to run on foot.
With the Fort Worth Police Department's prompt cooperation, law enforcement officials managed to apprehend the individual after a brief foot chase. It was during this chase that, the suspect discarded a firearm which was later retrieved by members of the Fort Worth Police.
