Haltom City witnessed a piercing disruption of its early morning calmness on Sunday when a suspected road rage incident escalated into gun violence. According to the Haltom City Police Department, officers were called to the 4400 block of East Belknap between 4:15 A.M. and 4:45 A.M., where a 16-year-old boy was found with gunshot wounds in what appears to be an isolated confrontation turned dire.
The altercation unfolded as two vehicles journeyed northeast on East Belknap from Bernice Street before continuing through the traffic light at Layton and Belknap, during which time one of the passengers of what is believed to be a sedan filled with four Hispanic males, opened fire, injuring the young boy who is now battling for his life in a local hospital, the victim's identity remains concealed due to his minor status. HCPD is earnestly calling upon the public's assistance, urging anyone with video footage of the vicinity around the time of the incident to step forward and aid in illuminating the details of this grave event.
