On Wednesday, deputies in Harris County were in for more than routine patrol. A traffic stop on Spears Road led to the apprehension of a man driving a stolen vehicle who attempted to conceal his true identity from local authorities. According to Constable Mark Herman's Office's Facebook post, the driver first presented deputies with a false name and birth date during the stop.
However, through diligent investigation, they were able to confirm the man's identity as Christopher Robinette. Robinette was wanted, with not one but two open felony warrants for possession of a controlled substance looming over his head. To add to his legal troubles, he was found in possession of crystal methamphetamine at the time of his arrest.
"Christopher Robinette was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrants and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Failure to Identify Fugitive. His bond and court information has not been set at this time. Additional charges for Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle are pending further investigation," Constable Mark Herman stated in a Facebook post.
The vehicle Robinette was apprehended in was confirmed as stolen, which opens the door for potential additional charges. The investigation into the unauthorized use of the vehicle continues, and law enforcement is considering further charges pending the outcome.
