In the early hours of the morning, Harris County deputies were called to a home on Hennington Drive due to reports of a disturbance. Upon their arrival at approximately 12:56 a.m., the sounds of strife were clear even from outside the residence. An encounter at the threshold with an adult female was quickly eclipsed by the voice of a young juvenile, claiming assault from within the confines of the home.
The situation rapidly escalated, resulting in both parents being taken into custody following a confrontation. As confirmed by a post in Constable Mark Herman's Office, they are facing serious allegations, including Aggravated Assault of a Police Officer, Injury to a Child, and Retaliation. The deputies' engagement with the distressing domestic scene turned to quickly ensuring the safety of the advising juvenile and uphold the law, even as they came under threat.
The identities of the suspects have not been publicly released, consistent with the protocol to withhold information pending further investigation. The child is ostensibly now under the protection of the authorities, though the extent of the injuries reported has not been detailed by the corresponding officials.
Following the arrests, both suspects were transported to the Harris County Jail where they await processing. Details around what precipitated the altercation, or the events that led to the aggravated assault charge against the officers, remain to be seen. Constable Herman's Office has promised additional information will be provided, urging the public to "Stay tuned for the press release," according to Precinct 4's Facebook post.
