A routine traffic stop conducted by the Healdsburg Police Department yesterday at the intersection of Healdsburg Avenue and Lytton Springs Road led to the arrest of three individuals on charges that shed light on the intertwined issues of illegal firearms and drug offenses. According to the Healdsburg Police Department, a non-serialized loaded handgun, ammunition, and two bags of suspected fentanyl were found in the vehicle.
The encounter began just before 3 PM when officers stopped a vehicle with three occupants. The driver was Jose Carlos Delpalacio, aged 37, and passengers Jeanett Hernandez, 35, and Lesly Hernandezzamudio, 29, all hailing from Santa Rosa. This discovery soon led to their arrests after it was established that the driver was on parole and in violation of his terms. As per the police department, the charges against the driver include felony possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of an undetectable firearm, felon carrying a loaded firearm in public, violation of parole, and a misdemeanor for possession of a controlled substance, demonstrating a clear disregard for the law and the safety of the community.
His fellow passengers found themselves in legal turmoil as well. Both Hernandez and Hernandezzamudio now face similar felony charges for the possession of the unmarked gun and controlled substance as well as misdemeanors.
