The City of Henderson is calling for nominations to add names to its Veterans Memorial Wall, a tribute to local military servicemen and women. In a new twist this year, the wall aims to include a separate category specifically dedicated to Korean War veterans.

With Veterans Day fast approaching on November 9, our community has the opportunity to permanently engrave the names of its heroes on the hallowed panels of the Henderson Veterans Memorial Wall. The veterans designated to potentially join over 1,900 names already honored come from a span of historic periods and engagements: Korean War, Vietnam, Persian Gulf, and the ongoing Global War on Terror. A poignant category, "Veterans Killed in Action", is also included to solemnly remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, according to the news release from the City of Henderson.

Nominations for engraving must be submitted by September 25, according to the city's announcement. This criteria ensures there is sufficient time to properly review submissions, approve them, and complete the engraving process before the ceremony. To be eligible, veterans needed to have been Henderson residents at some point during their military tenure. Also, corroborative documents such as Form DD214, verifying military service and residency in Henderson, must support nominations.
