The Detroit Lions are gearing up to add a hi-tech flair to their season opener celebrations with a drone light show slated for this Saturday, September 7, at 8:45 p.m. The spectacle will be held 400 feet above Ford Field, and will be clearly visible against the backdrop of downtown Detroit, ClickOnDetroit reported.
Fans are invited to gather southeast of Madison Street to watch the show, weather permitting. According to MLive, the current weather forecast predicts mostly clear skies with a comfortable high of 60 degrees for the evening.
Preceding the Lions’ face-off against the Los Angeles Rams for Sunday Night Football on September 8, the drone show is not only set to dazzle Lions enthusiasts but also to signal the kickoff of the NFL festivities in Detroit. This isn't the team’s first foray into drone displays; a similar event was launched back in January prior to the NFC Championship game at San Francisco.
The official Detroit Lions' announcement emphasized that "This event is weather-dependent," and provided guidance on where to watch, designating spectators to areas southeast of Madison Street for their own safety. For those who wish to partake in the electrifying display, the details on timing and location were confirmed in a post by the Detroit Lions on their official feed.
