In the dead of night, a high-speed pursuit ended in calamity as a vehicle, manned by three masked juveniles, crashed into the Kingston Fire Station, according to the Kingston Police Department. The chain of events began after 1:00 AM, when locals reported a threatening encounter at a home with suspects who were possibly armed with knives and firearms; the suspects had left the scene with intentions to assault another individual on Nottingham Drive.
Kingston Police responded promptly, identifying the suspect vehicle stationed mid-roadway in front of the intended victim's home, where the occupants, in a hasty attempt to elude recognition, appeared to be changing their attire—an act cut short by the swift arrival of law enforcement. Despite an officer's attempt to perform a vehicle stop, the suspects fled, catalyzing a brief two-minute, two-mile chase through Kingston which culminated in the suspect vehicle barreling off the route and colliding into the local fire station situated at 105 Pembroke Street, as reported by the Kingston Police Department.
Post-crash, the driver fled the scene momentarily before returning and surrendering to custody; the other suspects were detained, with the underage driver discovered to be unlicensed and the vehicle confirmed stolen from family.
