Mostly sunny skies and west winds of 6 to 10 mph will carry Boston through most of Saturday. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms develops from late afternoon into the evening, with the National Weather Service warning that any storms could bring lightning, gusty winds and brief torrential downpours.
The chance of rain remains low overall at 14% during the day and 20% tonight, when temperatures dip only to around 73. Storm timing and location remain uncertain, so outdoor plans are more likely to face a quick interruption than a complete washout, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunday Brings The Weekend Heat
Sunday looks sunnier and hotter, with a high near 91, west winds of 6 to 13 mph and a low around 70 overnight. The forecast calls for only a small chance of rain, making it the better bet for dry plans, though the heat and humidity could push how it feels into the lower or middle 90s.
Monday eases back to a still-warm 85 under sunny skies. A slight chance of showers returns Monday night, mainly between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., before Tuesday brings another warm day near 87 with a better chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
Cooler, Less Humid Weather Arrives Late Week
Storm chances linger into Tuesday night, followed by a slight chance of showers Wednesday as the high reaches about 81. By Thursday and Friday, temperatures settle near 81 and 79, while overnight lows fall into the upper 60s and then the mid-60s.
There are currently no watches, warnings or advisories posted for the Boston area. For Saturday's heat, water, shade and a little flexibility around the late-day storm window remain the sensible strategy.
