Early Sunday morning, a pedestrian was left critically injured following a hit-and-run incident in the west Las Vegas area. As reported by FOX5 Vegas, the collision occurred on South Durango Drive near Purple Flower Lane at approximately 2:29 a.m. The victim, identified only as a 37-year-old male, was struck by an unidentified vehicle that was traveling southward on Durango. The vehicle involved did not stop and fled the scene without providing any assistance or information.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), who arrived shortly after the incident, are still piecing together the circumstances that led to the crash. Driving south on Durango Drive, the unidentified car hit the man in the roadway, then callously left without stopping to seek help for the severely injured man. The victim, whose identity has not been made public, was quickly taken to UMC Trauma for urgent care.
As the investigation continues, authorities have not yet disclosed any details regarding the make or model of the vehicle responsible. Given the early hour of the incident, determining factors such as speed, pedestrian behavior, and possible impairment are still under review by LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.
