In a recent announcement, Constable Mark Herman's Office is on the lookout for a former employee of the Torrid clothing store at Houston Premium Outlets, accused of making fraudulent returns and siphoning off a sizable sum. Deputies arrived at the scene after being called to the 28800 block of the Northwest Freeway on August 14, upon which the store manager shared the details of the alleged internal theft. According to their investigation, Nancy Nwachukwa is suspected of processing fake returns over multiple days, funneling a total of $6,203.00 to her personal accounts.
As documented on the official Facebook page of Precinct 4, Constable Herman urged those with any knowledge of her location to come forward. "Nancy Nwachukwa is currently wanted by law enforcement for State Jail Felony Theft Aggregate. if you have any information regarding her whereabouts, you are urged to contact our dispatch," the statement said.
Officials have not yet released information on how long Nwachukwa allegedly carried out this scheme before detection or the mechanisms of the store's internal controls.
