
Authorities have apprehended Kyliel Denzel Arceneaux, 21, on multiple charges including capital murder following a fatal shooting incident at a senior living community. The fatal event, which claimed the life of 90-year-old Nelson Beckett, occurred at 10680 Westbrae Parkway last Saturday afternoon, around 12:45 p.m., per an official news release.
The Houston Police Department indicated that the suspect, now identified as Arceneaux, allegedly assaulted Mr. Beckett and then shot him before stealing his belongings and vehicle; the vehicle was used to strike Beckett as the assailant made a hasty escape from the scene, was later found at an apartment complex in the 12500 block of Dunlap Street.
According to the official release, vigorous investigative efforts—spearheaded by the HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Roberts and Detective J. Wallschlaeger, in tandem with the South Gessner Patrol Division’s Crime Suppression Team, HPD Gang Division, and Texas Department of Public Safety's Criminal Intelligence Division—culminated in Arceneaux's arrest yesterday.
Arceneaux has since been charged with capital murder, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and tampering with evidence and now awaits court proceedings in the 487th State District Court.
