A significant development has emerged in a Houston homicide case dating back to July 2023, with the recent arrest and charging of a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting. According to a release from the City of Houston, 34-year-old Ricky Lee Garcia has been charged with the murder of Tracy Delano Richardson, Jr., a 30-year-old man who was found shot to death on the driveway of a residence at 15815 Boonridge Road in the early hours of July 26, 2023.
The woman who was the suspect in Spectacles was arrested on Saturday after his implication in the surveillance footage of a vehicle that fled the scene of the crime led to further investigation implicating him as the prime suspect, Garcia was taken into custody by the HPD Southwest Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team during a family disturbance at a separate location. During the initial investigation, authorities were left without a suspect description or motive, but photos of a gray Chevrolet Impala, or a similar model, disseminated to the public on July 26 provided crucial leads.
The Fort Bend County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim, and the case is now being handled in the 268th State District Court in Fort Bend County. The Houston Police Department's Homicide Division, including Sergeant A. Dudley and Detective A. Hernandez, responded to the assault-in-progress call and later confirmed the fatality at the scene, rendering the case a homicide. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics also arrived on the scene, where they pronounced Richardson deceased, as detailed by the City of Houston News.
