
A man is behind bars following a fatal shooting that occurred on Tidwell Road in Houston. The shooting, which left one man dead, took place at approximately 11:30 a.m. yesterday. Houston police have arrested 23-year-old Joshua White, now facing murder charges, along with a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. City of Houston News released the initial details of the incident and the suspect's arrest today.
Upon responding to a 9-1-1 call, Houston Police Department patrol officers discovered a male victim with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the address in North Houston. The Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene where the unresponsive man was pronounced dead. The suspect was detained shortly after at the same location. The identity of the 35-year-old deceased man is yet to be confirmed, as officials are awaiting verification from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The investigation led by HPD Homicide Division's Sergeant M. Holbrook and Detective R. Lujan revealed that there was an altercation between the men before the shooting. According to their findings, which were detailed in the report by the City of Houston News, the suspect, Joshua White, admitted to shooting the victim during the dispute. The prompt communication with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office resulted in charges being pressed against White.
After his arrest, White was booked into the Harris County Jail. A photo released by authorities confirmed his identity. Currently, the legal process is underway as White will have to answer to the respective charges filed against him in the 337th State District Court.
