A man has been arrested and charged with murder following a deadly shooting that occurred last week at a Houston apartment complex. The Houston Police Department, has identified the suspect as 39-year-old Warren Del Unkefer, now facing charges in connection to the shooting at 5430 Birdwood Road on Friday.
According to the City of Houston's official news release, officers responded to the incident shortly before 9 p.m. and discovered Robert Culver, 63, unresponsive with gunshot wounds. Despite the emergency response from the Houston Fire Department paramedics, Culver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witness statements indicate that a man and a woman were spotted inside the apartment prior to the gunfire and were later seen in the parking lot. Both were detained by the police, and the male was identified as Unkefer, who was subsequently charged after an investigation with the involvement of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
