A man was arrested and charged with robbery by threat last Friday after an incident at a convenience store in Houston, Texas. The robbery occurred at approximately 10:40 am at the 4400 block of Airline. Ronnie Hunts, 37, is the man facing charges in the 248th State District Court. According to a statement from the convenience store clerk who was working at that time, Hunts entered the store and threatened to shoot the employee if the money from the cash register was not handed over. The clerk further described that Hunts made an attempt to breach the door leading to the store's secure area but failed to access the funds and ultimately fled the scene on foot. The employee then contacted law enforcement promptly after the attempted robbery.
Officers from the North Patrol Division of the Houston Police were dispatched in response. With the suspect's description in hand, one of the officers located an individual matching the description near the scene. When the officer initiated detainment for questioning, the suspect initiated a foot chase but was quickly detained.
