A tragic incident unfolded in Northeast Houston where a 26-year-old mother was fatally shot in front of her children at a birthday celebration. The shooting occurred just after 8:30 p.m. yesterday in the 8200 block of Locksley Road, according to ABC13.
Details provided by the Houston Police Department, an argument between the suspect and the victim erupted at the home's doorway leading to several shots fired inside the residence, "He left in a vehicle, supposedly white, possible Tahoe, possible Suburban, so we're looking for him," Lt. R. Willkens said, in a statement obtained by ABC13. A four-year-old and a six-year-old were present during the violent outburst but remained physically unharmed.
The Houston Police have identified the gunman as the father of the children, now urging him to come forward and share his side of the story. Previous reports cited by ABC13 suggest a history of child custody disputes at the home.
The suspect fled the scene in a white vehicle and authorities believe it could be a Tahoe or a Suburban. FOX26 Houston notes that if you have any information that leads to the whereabouts of the suspect, contact authorities. Meanwhile, the investigation continues as detectives look into whether the presence of another male friend of the mother at the home may have contributed to the argument. The suspect, whose name has not been publicly released, remains at large.
