Early this morning, a man, believed to be in his 30s, was found fatally shot at 8900 Lipan Street in Houston, authorities reported. Houston police received a call about a shooting in a park near the address at approximately 12:55 a.m., where they discovered the body of an unresponsive male victim with multiple gunshot wounds, according to City of Houston News.
HPD's Homicide Division, including Sergeant B. Olive and Detectives G. Zavala, A. Hernandez, and T. Tyler responded to the scene, alongside Houston Fire Department paramedics, who, confirmed the man's death. While the victim's identity is still pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences; witnesses at the scene reportedly saw two males fleeing the area after the shooting.
Investigative efforts continue as authorities work to uncover details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting. Officers found the body on the grass south of the baseball field, near a sidewalk, marking another instance of violence in the community.
