A fatal shooting in Southeast Houston has left a man dead and local authorities searching for answers. The Houston Police Department was called to an apartment at the Villas at Sandrock on MLK Boulevard just after midnight, where a man in his 50s was found with a fatal gunshot wound. According to FOX 26, the dead man's roommate, who had not seen the shooting occur, was the one who called the authorities after hearing a gunshot.
Information provided by Click2Houston suggests the police believe that there were originally four individuals present in the apartment when the incident took place, but two left quickly and have yet to be located or identified. The third person, the caller and roommate of the victim, is seemingly not a witness to the actual shooting event. Officers arrived at the scene, near Hobby Airport, to commence their investigation but have so far not released further details on the shooter.
This incident has led to an ongoing investigation as police work to piece together the sequence of events that led up to the man's death. The victim's identity has yet to be officially released pending notification of next of kin, and the motive behind the shooting continues to remain unspecified.
