
Houston police are actively investigating a fatal shooting that happened late Saturday night. The incident occurred at an apartment complex located at 14723 West Oaks Plaza Drive, with official reports placing the time at approximately 10:55 p.m.
Authorities arrived on the scene after receiving reports of a 'suspicious person with a weapon' as well as gunshots; upon their arrival, they discovered an unresponsive male suffering from a gunshot wound, the Houston Fire Department paramedics later pronounced the man deceased at the scene, but as of now, the victim's identity has yet to be confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, according to the City of Houston News.
The investigation is spearheaded by the HPD Homicide Division with Sergeants C. LaFour, A. Lopez and Detectives G. Zavala and N. Sharp taking the lead, as they scour through evidence and witness testimonials to piece together the circumstances leading up to the tragic event.
While the investigators are working diligently, they have not yet established a clear motive for the shooting, nor have they identified any suspects. The police are seeking assistance from the public.
