Houston authorities are on the lookout for 26-year-old Treveon J. Walls, identified as a person of interest in the fatal road rage shooting of Alberto Posada, aged 25. The Houston Police Department has called for community assistance to help track down Walls for questioning regarding the events of June 9, when gunfire at approximately 1:10 a.m. on Homestead Road led to Posada's death days later on June 11. No charges have been filed against Walls at this time.
According to the City of Houston news release, the confrontation started as a verbal altercation at a gas station, located at the same Homestead Road address, and quickly escalated into a chase that ended in violence. Posada's vehicle was pursued and ultimately came under fire just as it arrived at Harris Health Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital. Following the incident, the suspect's vehicle was seen fleeing the scene. The press release stated, "Posada suffered at least one gunshot wound." He was then transferred to another area hospital, where his passing was confirmed.
Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen of the HPD Homicide Division are managing the investigation. Their efforts led to the naming of Walls as a person of interest, someone they believe may possess critical information about the incident. The police have circulated a prior photograph of Walls, urging anyone to come forward if they have details on his whereabouts.
