The incident occurred on Thursday, May 2 when a homeowner, after being alerted by his home security system, confronted an individual exiting his townhome. As reported on the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division website, the suspect proceeded to point a handgun at the homeowner before fleeing the scene on a bicycle.
The confrontation occurred around 4:45 a.m. after the homeowner returned from the gym to his residence on the 3900 block of Hare Street in Houston, Texas. Upon his arrival, he discovered the suspect and a brief confrontation ensued. Despite the potentially life-threatening situation, the homeowner was not harmed, and the suspect, who had stolen tools from the home, managed to escape. The suspect's description is relatively nondescript: an unknown race male, clad in a black pullover, black pants, and black shoes.
The Houston Police Department has issued a call for assistance to the public and is offering a financial incentive for information that leads to the capture and charging of the suspect involved in this felony. They've announced a reward of up to $5,000 for tips that result in the arrest, according to the details on their website.
