Officials are reaching out to the Houston community, seeking any information that may lead to two individuals connected to a deadly incident that occurred on Griggs Road last month. The Houston Police Department has requested public assistance in tracking down the pair, who are considered persons of interest in the case that resulted in the death of Christopher Cobb, aged 35. The tragic event unfolded in the early hours of August 18, around 3 a.m., at the address 4706 Griggs Road.
As reported by City of Houston News, the individuals are two dark-skinned black males, each believed to be in their mid-20s. Descriptions provided by the authorities detail one of the men as having golden locks and a mustache, while the other was adorned in red jogging pants paired with a white hoodie. A gray Hyundai Sonata with a Florida license plate reading 18BWDK was the last known vehicle to be associated with them.
The case began to unfold when HPD patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting at the said location. They discovered the victim, later identified as Mr. Cobb, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. According to Detective G. Rangel of the HPD Homicide Division, the suspect or suspects also made off with the victim's vehicle, a gray 2019 Hyundai Sonata, after the shooting. Paramedics rushed Mr. Cobb to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead on September 3.
Through the diligence of their investigation, HPD has compiled and released surveillance photos of the persons of interest. These images, along with a photo of a similar vehicle to the one missing from the scene, are being circulated in an appeal for public assistance. "Further investigation developed information on two persons of interest," detailed a statement obtained by City of Houston News. HPD Homicide detectives are urging anyone with knowledge about the identities or locations of these men to come forward.
Members of the community who have information relevant to this case are encouraged to contact the HPD Homicide Division directly at 713-308-3600. Those wishing to remain anonymous may also provide tips to Crime Stoppers by calling 713-222-TIPS.
